Connect with the Landscape you’re in!
Breath it in!
Breath it out!
Remember your core centre, and how all radiates in and out from that
Grounded PLACE!
Each Context is unique.
Start by attuning with the Evolutionary Purpose of the Place you’re catalysing. Slow down and allow the mystery to unfold. Honour all that came before and all that is present. And prepare the space for the coming cycle of the WeLand - Making Sense of Place.
Setting up the Design Studio
Indoors or outdoors, create a practical space for the design process to be activated and collectively visualised.
Start with the WeBoard
The process begins with opening the game board, where you will be able to visualise and follow the different phases of the vortex you are invited to go through. Have the WeBoard with you along the process, either present in the room printed in a big format (A1 is the recommended size for this) or digital if the process is set up mainly with the support of digital tools. Use it to compile the practices you will be engaging with in each phase and to review the process at any point.
CREATING THE SOIL
Before entering the vortex, make sure you create a fertile ground by taking a moment to reflect and make explicit to everyone engaged in the process the purpose of the learning journey and how you will navigate the process. The tools and exercises presented in this phase help to create a common ground for the process to follow.
JOURNEY THROUGH THE VORTEX
From here you are invited to navigate through the five inquiry phases of the WeLand vortex, looking for practices that better serve the purpose of your process in each phase. Remember to select, prioritise and distribute practices as needed. And use the WeMeta Cards to guide the opening and closing of each phase of the cycle collectively.
.
BACK TO THE SOIL
In the end of the 5 inquiry phases, take a moment to look back at the process in your WeBoard and visit the different phases and practices you went through making sense of your place, community and initiative. Reflect on what happened, on what worked well, what you have learned and what you would like to do better next time you engage in a process like this. The last WePractice cards are dedicated to evaluation.
